Whisky, Scotland's national drink has a heritage dating back more than 500 years. It is therefore, little surprise that the gaelic name for whisky, Uisge Beatha, translates as 'Water of Life'.

Whisky's are divided into different regions, depending where the distillery that produces the whisky is situated. These include Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside and the Islands.

There are numerous Argyllshire Distilleries to visit as you wind your way through the charming towns and villages of Argyllshire.
